Tommy, a case of rehabilitation work post-injury
Tommy, 6 years-old, had an episode of a raptured disc in the house; possibly while jumping up or down from the bed. His hind quarters were paralysed and a catheter was placed on him.
April, 2013 – Since he was on antil-inframatory medication, vigorous massage was withheld. Instead, therapeutic massage and passive stretching were done during the first session.
During a weekly session, the catheter was taken off, he regained mobility fairly quickly fortunately.
NOTE: This is simply an example of sessions we have had and not to imply that all dogs will fully recover from paralysis by massage.
