Another Quick & Easy Meal…with Natural Omega 3 :)
Grill a Mackerel fillet. In a seperate sauce pan, add water, some cooked white rice, raw green beans, dried Hijiki & Goji berries. Bring it to simmer for a couple of minutes. Add the grilled Mackerel when it’s done, and that’s it!
Dewey loves Mackerel, so does Angel (our cat). It was yummy! (Yes, I had some, too.)
They usually have Omega 3 fatty acid liquid supplement, but I skip when cooking something that is naturally rich in Omega 3.
Calcium in Home-Cooked Meals
Just the other day, someone asked me how I provide Dewey with enough calcium.
I automatically said;
Well, I hear people use egg shell powder, but I don’t worry about it too much.
Why didn’t I think of Hijiki (Dried seaweed) at the time?? Duhhh.
Hijiki is high in calcium as well as magnesium.
Hey, Ms. S., if you are reading this blog, adding Hijiki is an easy way to add calcium! :)
Oh, by the way, I would suggest grilling mackerel outside on a barbecue, or with a fish-grilling pan with a lid. Otherwise, your kitchen will be smelly for a while! LOL
