Boy, today’s walk with Dewey was quite eventful.
#1. A dog that that was coming towards us started barking at Dewey. It went on for a long time after we passed each other.
#2. A little boy decided to chase Dewey all of a sudden and came VERY close to tackling him! I had to run up and get between them and tell the little boy that the dog is scared of him.
#3. A dog slipped out of his collar and came running towards Dewey growling. He approached us rapidly and nipped Dewey!
The amazing thing is that Dewey somehow was able to remain calm during each scenario. He didn’t even seem too stressed. If you know Dewey, this is noteworthy!
I’m sure there are a lot of intricate factors involved, but I have to give Dr. Batch’s Rescue Remedy credit for this.
According to www.batchflower.com;
Rescue Remedy is a combination of five of the original Bach Flower Remedies which are especially beneficial when you find yourself in traumatic situations, such as, stress, emergencies, after getting bad news, before an exam or job interview and all other kind of situations where we suddenly lose balance mentally. The Remedies quickly get us back in our normal balance so that we calmly can deal with any situation.
I have been using the Rescue Remedy for Dewey and my cat, Angel for a few months now, and the results are pretty positive.
